I have a 17CCSB and it has the split bench in the back. I want to fold the seat down and i can do so easly on the small seat side. But on the seat behind the drivers seat it won't pull down. Am I missing a safety latch or something that I need to release?
Thanks for the help. Not around my manual right now.
You can also make a seat release with a key ring and some para-cord. The hole is not there from the factory needs to be drilled.
Keep in mind, once the seat is released it can be a bit tricky to get it to latch again. Lift the seat bottom to about 45º then press slightly below the headrest seems to work for me.
Thanks. Funny that it's there but they don't use it. On my 2011 ford had it so that you could use the latch. I appreciate the help.
Now that i think about it. I have that strap showing from behind my seat like the image in that amazon post. I'll definitly have to look at it tonight.
Once I got my seat down, I removed the latch mechanism from the back of the seat. Now I can fold it down anytime I want without messing with the latch.

Have you had any issues with the seat back falling forward or moving?
Once you get your seat down, it takes less than a minute to remove the latch. If you ever have a problem, only takes another minute to put it back the way it was.

For anyone considering this route, I would not recommend having anyone occupy the seat if the latch is removed. The seat back is secured for safety reasons in the event of a crash.
It's very easy to do the paracord mod (took me 10 min at the most) or spend a little extra on the built right bracket

Robbgt,
When I removed the latch, I figured that as long as the passenger is using a seat belt, the passenger would be held secure. You raise a valid concern, however, about the seat itself breaking loose, and I must admit, I hadn't really considered that possibility. I am going to go back and do your paracord mod and reinstall the latch. Thanks for your input Sir! This is why I read these forums.
