Charging system data error & engine temp data error
Hello all,
I'm having trouble chasing down the problem with my 2006 expedition. I've recently replaced the cam phaser because of a misfiring issue and am now facing a new dilemma. Once I installed the phaser, the expedition fired right up only to go into engine failsafe mode. Having realized I missed connecting one of the connectors on the wiring harness, I quickly made the connection (throttle body position controller) and thought I was off to the races. only now I get both "Charging system data" error and an "engine temp data error" reading out on the dashboard display. I tried to pull code with both of my code readers but both of them now fail to communicate with the vehicle. I've tried chasing down wires thinking that maybe I'm making contact with bare wire somewhere and found one spot in the exhaust temp sensor. having fixed that, I'm still facing the same issue and have run out of ideas. PLEASE HELP!!!
There are two wires at the alternator in different connectors to check for power. The BK/OG and the OG/LB wires should have +12v on them with the key on or off. Do they?

Hey boss, I have the same issues and tested the wires you suggested and getting zero voltage on or off
Then it's likely fusible links A & B are blown. Here is the wiring diagram and the location chart for the fusible links.
Ok pulled the fusible harness off and chased wires down to find a couple fused together. Separated, continuity and tested while installed. Signals good at the generator. I’m guessing PCM or fuse box? I do hear a click sound at the box with each movement of the key positions to on. I did check the lower amp fuses and good continuity.
