Had the windshield replaced today after 1600 miles. They left this part in the console. Assume it was a one time use part they replaced and forgot to trash, but figured I would ask?
I do remember when I got mine replaced there is more than one windshield model depending on options your truck has maybe they ordered the incorrect one.
There is a little heater like a rear defroster that surrounds the optics behind your mirror (if you have lane departure/ auto wipers / high beams.
this is the cable that goes from the harness to the spades that are on the windshield.
There are five possibilities:
1) you dont have the above options that require this part, and you got a windshield that came with it
2) you have a windshield that requires this part and an extra came with it
3) you have these options and they left it disconnected from the new windshield
4) you have these options and they ordered the wrong windshield, which does not have the affixed heater for the part to attach to
5) it fell from the sky
