Decent Spray Can Paint?

I understand spray can paint isn't going to win any awards, but I'd like to redo some items like the screw jack, battery box, and vacuum can on the fender well and just don't have the option of a spray booth and gun. Any suggestions on what people have found in a spray can that looks good and holds up would be appreciated. These items are all black by the way.

Thanks,
John

If Eastwood's or SEM sell it they will be your best products.

This is very true but can be expensive. I would use this for cosmetic parts that are going to be seen.
I paint a lot with a lot of different types of paints and coatings. I worked several years in a model shop and have basic training as a painter.

For what you want to do Rustoleum is a great option, honestly it is really durable for what it costs. And you can easily re-coat it later.
Also Tractor Implement paint in a can is extremely durable and cost effective. The stuff at TSC is awesome. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...k?cm_vc=-10005

This stuff is pretty good. When I picked up my D44 front end after the shop installed diff, I was impressed with the finish they put on it. Shop owner said it's good frame paint. He gave me a can. I've since bought a case and used it for all kinds of stuff like you're talking about. It looks good and holds up really well.

I rattle canned my door with it. It has held up quite well for the last year.
The door was getting some bad surface rust pitting. It was more just to slow down and seal it up on the cheap.
Primer and flat black rustoleum and haven't looked back.
If it's a show car deal than forget everything mentioned here, that's a different game.
But I don't think you would be rattle canning a show piece either..

Thanks everyone, appreciate your comments. I've used Rustoleum for years on stuff, but got inspired by all the restorations and truck builds on here and wondered what people were using. Might give SEM a try as I can find it locally, but the engine rebuild got Duplicolor which seems to be holding its own for now.

Thanks again,
John
