'04 Excursion?

I was at the dealer last night ironing out some details on the order of my '04 F-350 and I picked up an '04 Explorer Brochure. It showed a picture of all the SUV's including the Excursion. Wasn't the monster of all SUV supposed to be discontinued? Are they still selling off '02's with '04 face lifts?

as an attempt to not look like a fool I went to the Ford website to check on the '04 Excursion myself. On the website you can build an '04 and add all sorts of options. Wasn't it only a few months ago that you could only get the '03 in 3 colors with a limited amount of options? Did I miss the big press release stating that the Excurions will continue to be built into eternity.....

No, you missed the press release that said the X will be made through the '04 MY.

X's are available in more than 3 colors and from stripper XLS to loaded Ltds. The Ltd., with its monotone paint scheme, is only available in a "limited" number of colors.

Yes, that is what Ford is saying officially, but someone on another forum said that he talked to a Ford eng'g at a PSD rally (or something like that). The eng'g said that Ford has decided to make the X in the '05 MY but without the '05 SD facelift/suspension changes.

The worst kind of rumor, and probably not accurate, but it was reported.

If I wanted an X, I'd get an '04 and not bet on the '05s.

Interesting, so does that mean that the SD will be getting a totally new face or just the cosmetic side of it. It has been a number of years since the last one…………….correct? Inquiring minds want to know if it will be as radical as the 04 F150?

New grill, front fenders, dash and seat. Biggest thing is the new IFS with coils instead of leafs.

For the life of me, I cannot tell any difference in that picture. The interior; yes. Plus, what a horrible job for a 40K+ truck.

I didn't hear that the front wound be IFS. But I did hear about the swap to coils instead of leafs.

You could be right about the IFS. Too many rumors going around. I get them mixed up in my head.

Ford is talking about making more Excursion in some capacity in 2005. No word out yet, but I will keep you posted.

They are also going to be coming out with an ExpeditionXL around 2006 MY. Stay tuned.

Why not run some high-end Ltd.'s down the line. $50K+. Even with rebates, very profitable.
