Before I get the typical "search is your friend" responses...I have searched as much as I know to search. This is the closest thing I have found...which was never resolved. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/3...rake-code.html
I have a 1999 F250 4x4 w/ V10. The Brake Code on my door sticker says "2", which doesn't seem to align with any of the decoders I have found. Does anyone know what "2" means? I can assume it could mean NOT 4 Wheel ABS which would be Rear ABS only, but I want some confirmation on the code before I make that assumption.
The factory service manual for the 1999 and 2000 Super Duty models is silent on the BR codes on the VC label.
You'll have to determine what you have the old school way - by actually inspecting the system to see what is installed. Pop the hood and locate the ABS module behind the driver's side headlight. Count the brake lines connected to it. From memory, RABS will have two hoses, 4WABS will have five.
Thanks SHO. I tried to do that yesterday, but wasn't sure what exactly I was looking for and I was starting to lose daylight. The truck is lifted so that adds some challenges in finding stuff in the engine compartment also.
Pretty sure they all have RABS, regardless, at a minimum. So the question is really between that and 4WABS. I will run out and take a better look today and report back.
