I'm running bone stock, and my passenger side is metal and has never had a problem. I think i have a leak on my driver side CAC tube, as it's plastic. I can't tell where it's coming from but I'm thinking I'll start there. I just replaced my intercooler with an all aluminum CSF intercooler as my other one had popped because my EBP sensor died and I think the turbo bark popped it.
How much of a difference are the RRD boots vs the ford boots? $50 extra, my ford boots haven't been a problem for 15 years, so I'm curious if it's worth it.
I pulled everything off, cleaned them, reinstalled them 3x now, I can't find hte source of the leak. It's only when I let off the throttle or the truck shifts though that I hear a chirp, or when I get on it up a hill and put it under load. I've been dealing with it for over a month and I can't find it, and I can't simulate it when in park because hte turbo doesn't make boost when just getting on the gas in park. Aside from driving downt he road while under the hood, I'm not sure what else to try.
The plastic tube inside has the flex portion that looks a little dry rotted, but I can't find anywhere where there's an actual hole. When cruising, it's fine, it's just when I let off the gas.
