IC Boost leak, maybe?

I have built 40 lbs of boost with my h2e and 250 hybrid injectors twice since i had it. I talked to the guy i bought it from, very knowledgeable guy. He said i should be able to build atleast 55psi. Which sounds right, if I paid 2200 bucks for this turbo and it only builds 7 more then stock im dissapointed, and i really only ever build 35, 40 was rare.

But anyway to my question, me and kris got thinking and came up with two possibilities, one is were gonna go for a ride later and scan the map sensor and see if its defueling. second was, I have a 6.0 intercooler and it on the driverside the plastic part that the boot connects too is cracked. I bought a longer boot trying to cover it, visual it looks all covered. is it still possible for it to still leak and cause me to lose 15 psi?

I would just like some of yalls opinions, thanks in advance.

On the aftermarket stuff i'm not sure, but I would check the intercooler pipe that goes near the p/s pump. Mine had a hole worn in it, but I'm sure you'd hear it. I would get the crack fixed then go from there. Does the boot completly cover the crack? Even if the boot is clamped onto the crack and covers it, there is still a chance it is leaking...

I'm sure someone will be along shortly that knows a lot more about the aftermarket stuff...

i would say that crack is your problem...there could also be other cracks you havent found yet...plastic sucks...i just see a spearco ic go for 700 bucks this morning..too bad...do you have the ITP OBA ?? time to build a leak detector..i had to double clamp my boots just to keep them from leaking over 30 psi and i have a metel ic..

i built this one with a 3" pvc adapter and a plug for one end..got a air reg for a air compressor..tapped the plug and screwed in the air reg...i wouldnt use the the stock boot i have on the end...it can handle 25-30 psi but it will bust for 40 or 50 psi.. pick a rubber boot to fit the turbo inlet and the pvc adapter..

thinking twice about this..the H2 has a 4" inlet correct??..you may need to pick up a 4"boot and use a strait piece of 4" PVC and put a plug on one end..the coupler idea may not work for you..but it gives you an idea any ways...

Here is mine. Pretty much same thing and a word of caution, make sure you scuff up the PVC a little bit with the grinder so the intake boot grips securely. Mine popped off and it sounded like an explosion and dang near got me in the face at 25psi. @25psi it is around +- 150lbs of force (POP) (3x3=9x.7854=7.07x25=177lbs)

O wow. 4" is around 300lbs of "POP" factor @25psi. Be extra careful.

un plug the air filter inlet at the turbo..plug the detector to the turbo..build the the air up slowly till you hit 30 or 40 psi..depending on where the valves stop you may here what sounds like air filling up a tire..that is air flowing through the motor...you want to listen for hissing air..like a leaking tire..if you here that..look for where it is coming from and do what ever it takes to stop it...i wouldnt go over 40..i know you got studs..but most heads and gaskets wont take that much psi...

What? Is this a typo? Do you have any idea what kind of cylinder pressure the heads can take? 40psi on a static test is a joke. I think you are referring to something else.
