C6 auto shift linkage issues

I’ve got a 351m with C6 auto transmission. 2 wheel drive, column shift. Drivetrain is out of a 78. Does anyone have a picture of the linkage running down to the C6 lever and how it should look in park? Thanks!

Mine doesn’t look like that. I’m thinking I’m missing the neutral safety switch. And I’ve got two levers.

Is the lever location adjustable?

Hmm... You said 351 so I was thinking 77.5 and later. But your moniker indicates 75. prior to mid 77 the neutral safety switch was on the steering column. The front lever shown in my picture is for the kickdown linkage. Its the thinner outside lever and should point straight forward. It can be flipped 180 deg. The other lever is just visible pointing up behind the safety switch with the rod attached. I can't recall what it looks like on earlier transmissions.

You can move the lever until the truck will not roll. That is park.

mid (19)77 has nothing to do with the NSS .. 77.5 aka midyear 1977 (February 1977) refers to whether an F250 4WD is a High Boy or not.
1967/77 F100/350: NSS located on the steering column, all A/T's = C7TZ-7A247-A / Motorcraft SW-600

1978/79 F100/350 & Bronco: NSS located on the transmission. C6 = D8TZ-7A247-A / Motorcraft SW-1489 // C4 = D8TZ-7A247-B / Motorcraft SW-1491

I don't know what is up with your transmission. It doesn't look like either to me. Here is what a pre 78 ( not 77.5 as ND pointed out) should look like.

Drivetrain is from a 1978, how do you know if the steering column is too?

It doesn’t have the neutral safety switch on the column and the lower collar (with the shift handle) is not rounded like the earlier 73-77 columns.

Looks like the manual shift lever has been replaced with a universal type.(see pic). The NSS has been removed. And the kick-down lever is on backwards.

I believe you’re right! So, I can buy the correct parts and get this back to the way it should be? Because it’s binding now as I try to shift.

I removed the universal B&M shift lever and the linkage. The linkage has a stamping on it of D3TA-7328-EA. Any ideas what this linkage came from?

D3TZ-7328-C marked D3TA-7328-EA replaced by D5TZ-7328-A .. Transmission Gearshift Low & Reverse Connection Rod = 1973/76 F100/250 with 3 M/T

The manual control lever on E-Bay is marked D8TP-BA. Make sure you get the right one. 2WD & 4WD are different. 78-79 are different than 73-77.(grooves for nss). ND can give you the correct part #.
