Blinker Issue

I just chased down yet another electrical issue and resolved the major one. My main issue was my main inline fuse kept blowing as soon as i put it in. This was caused by a wire that had gotten pinched. Now after resolving that issue, another pops up. My blinker stays illuminated and wont blink. The drivers side signal light comes on both on the dash and outside however, the passenger side only illuminates the dash. i checked the signal relay under the dash but not sure how to tell if it is bad, it is aprrox 2 years old. The interesting part is my truck was working perfectly a month ago when i last drove it. I believe the fuse is good, but i dont know for sure that is what i will test tomorrow. I would think if the fuse is blown i wouldn't get any power though. What else could i check? I highly doubt the turn signal stalk is bad due to it working 100% perfectly the last time i drove it.

The taillight housing ground wire most likely.

Flasher test

Should have two. One for blinkers and one for emergency flashers. Test the emergencys, and if they work then swap them to test.

The 4-way hazard flasher relay = a heavy duty flasher relay for the directional turn signals. I think the hazard flasher is a 554, and the standard duty directional flasher is a 227, or something like that. The number for the one is twice the number for the other.

The following are called flashers, not relays. Both of these flashers look identical, are round with two prongs.

The T/S flasher is industry number: SFE-224 // The heavy duty 4 way emergency flasher is industry number SFE-552-B

The H/D flasher can be used in lieu of the T/S flasher and was with Camper Specials and trailer tow. Dealers installed it for people that were deaf, because it has a louder CLICK

But the T/S flasher should not be used in lieu of the 4 way flasher, because it's a "weak sister."

Mine did the same thing and it wound up being a bad bulb socket in the front turn signal. The ground inside the socket gets messed up. Replaced it and they work perfect again.
