A note;
The system will go into a full diagnostic if a code clear is done. This full diagnostic is what takes the longer time.
When filling tank with gas, the system knows the cap has been taking off, so treats it differently so the fuel gauge reading is updated 'only' and does not go into diagnostics again.
I does however keep track of how long the tank goes without proper pressure sensor feedback to detect a loose/leaking/missing cap.
A lot goes on most are not aware of.
Good luck.
Thanks again, Bluegrass...I actually filled the tank on Sunday, drove Monday to work (15 min one way), then when I got home the cap was in the mail, so I switched them out last night.
Also, I did not fill the tank to the max, but it was a little over 3/4 full
So, I can still expect "other" diagnostics to be running in the background, so to speak, for the next several days/weeks/more?
I know they won't affect the performance of the truck, just curious
Well, the dang SEL light is back on again....not sure what to do next
May be just my imagination, with what's going on lately, but it seems when I get home and park in the garage, I smell a faint hint of gasoline, towards the back of the truck
Also, if I pull and replace the F2 fuse like I did before, and the SEL light goes off, can we assume that the error code is the same I've had the previous 2 times?
