My front springs are pretty much toast. Not flat but damn near reverse arc'd now. SO...I have been looking at General Spring in KC and there are 4 different ratings. Same size springs tho.

I don't use my truck for plowing but it would be nice to have the front level with the rear. I dont haul many heavy loads anymore so I don't see the need for the top end. Just the load of hay every couple/three weeks (20 - 30 bales).
Maybe hauling a tractor every couple of months on a flatbed trailer (4000 lb tractor).
What is "normal"?
A lot of my customers will go with our 43-818 to get a more level stance. It won’t level it completely but it will bring up the front a little without killing the ride. It’s the heaviest spring Ford offered in those years but it’s still a direct replacement so it’s still a 2 leaf and not a HD 3 leaf. Unless you absolutely need the extra capacity I would stay away from the HD options.

Junior already beat me to it, but I'd suggest ATS springs. They've been a long time supporting vendor that participates in threads offering help, not just trying to sell.
I have 43-818's on the front and have no complaints. I can't speak of the height match because I have different springs on the back and I sit a little higher in the back when empty. They ride decent and seem to handle the plow with no problem when I have it mounted. I would buy them again.

I guess I should measure my current fender height on the truck now to see just how much it will increase.
Walleye...I don't suppose you could measure the height of your front fenders to ground could you? Top Center Huh huh Huh please?
At times like this I wish I lived closer. Would just drive up n get em.
Time to get the pennies together then.
It's sitting over in the grass, empty trailer attached, which I doubt changes anything. At the hubs it's an average of 40", one side is over and the other is under.

When comparing spring heights you should ask for center of hub to fender instead of ground to fender. Ground to fender will be different with different tires, a variable that won't help you unless you know you have the same tires as the other person.

Good point...I forgot to mention that my tires are new and stock size.

I also had them and had no complaints.
I cannot speak to height change either as one of my springs was broken when I replaced them (OEM V-Code). If I had to hazard a guess I would say I gained about an inch after they settled in after some miles.
Would we guess the 43-818’s are equivalent to the factory x codes?
Not exactly but as close as you get aftermarket. I forget the specs but the X is rated for more weight and I suspect that they have a different arch to them, which would affect height. You'd have to verify the height though.
There is a 43-818hd also. Would these be better since I run a thousand pound plow on the front of the truck?
Check with the guys at ATS but you might want to go that way, or they could beef up that 43-818 a little if it's a better way to go, they're pretty good folks.
I'm looking to replace my front springs on my 2001 F550 and would like a 2" lift. ATS junior I chatted with you quite a while back. I'm still in the middle of my overland build. I have an option to buy 3900 pound 3 leaf F350 front springs from a local after market spring company. You had said the 350 springs are the same eye to eye length, but should give me the lift. Do you know if these will level out like I'm hoping? The 3900 350 springs are actually heavier than the stock 550 springs. I noticed that if you buy. ReadyLift 2" mini pack you also get new offset track bar bushings. Anybody know if I put the 350 springs on to level the front will I need those offset bushings?
