We ended up with almost exactly 2" of rain for Wednesday and Thursday. About double the seasonal average for the entire month, and we have more coming Saturday.
News on Channel 2 says that garlic is on the tariff list of imports from China. Pretty good for Christopher Ranch in Gilroy. Not so good for farmers in The Valley who export produce to China.
But I suspect someone will crunch the numbers, and figure out a work-around where they send goods to Canada & Mexico, then truck them into US. I recall how a certain fashion brand made clothing in Haiti, then shipped everything to San Francisco where their headquarters are, and sewed on Made In USA labels as final production. There is a company in Santa Clara which imports LED lighting from China, in 2 parts. Then the US workers glue those 2 parts together as final assembly, and the product is Made In USA for government contract requirements.
I think I planted some garlic from Chinese garlic. Does that count as Made In USA? Or is it cheating because the original garlic came from China? Will the USDA come after me for propagating a non-native, invasive species?
Raining in Morgan Hill today. I'd much rather have the rain than the fires, but I'm sure we'll get both this summer.
As far as the truck, I was getting very sick of not having a chip in the 7.3. It's a complete dog without one. The last one failed and I removed it a couple years ago. I just placed an order with Clay for a new 80HP tow chip.
We're getting a bunch of that liquid sunshine still. 3/4" yesterday, and 1/3" (so far) today. Also getting a bit of a lightning and thunder demonstration this morning. We now have over 3" of rain for... May?!? It is May. Right?
Loving the Rain , that means I don’t have to Irrigate the pasture or the Orchard , The Cherrys are taking a hit though , farmers have Helicopter out trying to dry off the ripe Orchards before the Sun comes out , nothing like split Cherrys , rain and sun is not a good mix , as far as the unripe ones they should survive as the skins are less thin for water to Penitrate , still a bumper crop here in the Valley ,
i like Garlie Garnie , it’s a great seasoning , I could put Garlic on just about everything , best when your Frying eggs and toss in about 1/2 sliced garlic , my wife make Garlic bread with sour Doe bread 10 cloves chopped up and three cups of Mozarella cheese , let’s just say you can smell it out the sweat , keeps the Skeeters away, lol
