I know what you mean I fought that also but I don't remember what I did to get by it.

I used this guide and got DND to stop. I think it was something with the long tap

thanks... that icon in the pull down gets me quick access to turn it off each time.. what a pita!

If you long hold that DND icon it will open another menu. You can then toggle DND to off permanently till you change it.

thx.. doesn't behave that way for me... long hold brings up the same menu as selecting dnd in the normal settings menu...
and then turn off..

restart Android Auto, and its back on again

Long tapping the DND BUTTON gives me:

If you can get to this screen I think you will see the top button toggled on. If you toggle it off as mine DND will leave you alone. On 9 long tapping is suppose to get you to this screen.
