Selectable locker

Just wondering if there was a trim in the superduty lineup that had a selectable rear locker? I'm interested in popping a locker in the rear of my '99 2wd and figured it would be cheapest if I could just do an axle swap from a donor instead of buying an Eaton or OX locker to stuff in there. I'm not interested in LSD's or 'auto-lockers' only manually selectable with a switch on the dash.

The E Locker appeared in 2011, you could swap the whole axle.

Were the e-lockers limited to just the FX4 package?

No they were offered as a stand alone option. Including 4x2 trucks.

I never was a fan of having a selectable locker in the rear, just throw a Detroit locker in the and be done with it.

I’m not a fan of a selectable locker especially in a 2wd vehicle. You’re limited to the speed it can be engaged so in bad conditions on the highway or Interstate for example you’ll have to be crawling to be able to use it. In my 2wd Dually I went with a Eaton Truetrac, there’s no clutches to wear out, no chatter, no issues turning corners and it locks up at any speed without damage. It’s been absolutely flawless the last three years and really has transformed my truck.
