What do you do for a living?

I know this question has been asked in the General Conversation forum but I'm curious what kind of work you people here do.

I guess I'll have to start since I asked the question.

I'm a tech at a Ford dealer. Been there for almost 17 years. Worked at an independant shop for 7 years before that. (apprenticed there)
Flipped burgers at a Dog 'n Suds before that
lol

12 years in IT. Everything from an Engineer to an Architect. Currently a sales engineer for a company that provides equipment to OEM's for storage area networks.

All that means is I wind up driving my 2000 F150 from Main to Delaware and all points in-between every week answering tech questions and making sure they buy our gear...

Shop supervisor and heavy equipment mechanic (and everything else I guess!) at a very large nursery and landscaping outfit. Before that I spent 20 years in the Army working on tanks and then helicopters. My first job turning wrenches for pay was when I was 16 at a Ford truck and tractor dealer. Been doin it in one form or another for 28 yrs.

Part owner of a used (excuese me, pre-titled) 4x4 dealership. Fords being the specialty. I'm an electrician on the side, with a minor in mechanical engineering, a touch of electrical engineering, and a dash of pilot for good measure.

2 Years Marine (Shipboard) Electrician
1 year CNC Machinist w/ a side of Construction Electrician
1 year Electronics Tech
3 Years Construction Electrician while going to college
8 Years Navy nuc electrician (surface) w/ such odd jobs as vehicle pool maintenance coordinator, paralegal, and general repair specialist (if it's broke I'll weld, duct tape, or wire it back together).
1 year projectionist trainee (free movies... if you have the time)
2 years taffy puller (go ahead, laugh )
Eagle Scout class of '88, currently a cub scout leader for my two boys.

I have two associate's deg. One is a pre-engineering for a EE, the other with emphasis on nuclear & electrical theory. Like I need another piece of paper, I'm working on another associates. Gee, add those up and I'd have a masters, only cheaper.

I bring meaning to "Jack of all trades... master of none."

I am a maint. planner for a plastic injection milding shop. I started out running the machines, then went to processing on them then decided to go to maint.
I worked at SuperShops for 4 years before that selling performance parts.
My first job was at a Volkswagon/Subaru/Mazda dealership cleaning up new cars that came in.
My uncle gave me my first car. It was a 4door 71 Torino 500. It had a 351C in it that ran like a scalded dog and I have been hooked on Fords every since. I then bought a 71 Torino GT that was a 351CJ car. The guy had taken the motor out and put in in a 70 Mustang. I got the car for $200 and it still had the C6, 3.25 posi 9", factory window louvers, bucket seats, console w/floor shift and a rim blow steering wheel.
I then strayed a bit and bought a 69 Road Runner with a 440 6bbl and a 4speed. Man, that thing would fly!! Then I really strayed and got a 71 RS (split bumper) Camaro with a 388 stroker small block with a 3800 stall and 6.14 gears. I swithed the gears to 4.56's, I didn't like turning 5000rpm @ 50mph.
It was stolen ablout 6 months after I got it.
I then Bought my 88 5.0 LX Mustang new in August of 88. I have had it every since. I have also aquired a few trucks over the years as listed in my signiture.
I took auto mechanics in high school and most of my knowledge has been self taught from there. I just tear into it and figure out how it goes back together. I guess that I have always been mechanically inclined and this has helped me alot.
