So what does everyone do in life?
I work for the university while being a grad student, work as an independent researcher at NARA and LOC, and spend time working at a parts counter in my free time.
_as most everyone knows I am a long time Navy Retiree ( 1956-1975) then a sales/service rep for a number of medical instruments - mainly those used in industry required by OSHA.. Today, I am quite free to do whatever Penny wants me to.

I had heard the navy part but not the medical instrument sales. Sounds like an interesting time. So where did you serve in the Navy?
Well perhaps but maybe not, my uncle was stationed at the old Navy base in Bermuda followed by some time at a base in Mississippi and was never on the water.
As I was an airdale (Jet Engine Mech) we spent most of the time ashore at Naval Air Stations. When it was our turn to cruise we boarded aircraft carriers...included were: USS Saratoga, Forrestal, America, Constellation, Ranger and a very short time on the JFK. Also Essex, Independence, and Kitty Hawk. A number of those were just for a short time ( a week maybe two) for pilot aircraft carrier qualifications. The others were 9-10 month cruises to the Med or Nam. My actual time on board was maybe 4 -5 years total out of 20.
Other than "work" days...most of my days are spent trying to find creative ways to slack!!! I was in the workforce for 55 years...my slacking time is well deserved...and...appreciated.

A creative way to slack is one of the most ambitious goals one can have.
