In the computer world we call it a POST (Power On Self Test). It appears the on-board computer is running a self check diagnostics of the systems. Plug in a scan code check and see what the Check Engine Light is all about.
Did it go through and quit or keeps looping? Did you lose power (battery unplugged)? I had something similar when water from a broken windshield got behind the dash.

It had just started doing that on its own one day it did it two consecutive times. Do you understand what the values are of the codes it was showing and do you know if they are normal or average compared to what they are supposed to be
