Last Friday I mistakenly began a thread in the "What did you do to your 2015-to Present F150. I should have posted it here in the 2009-2014 sub board.
I had my truck towed to the dealer. It went into limp mode while my wife was driving the truck up a hill on a 2 lane country road. She was just able to get it to a parking area at a cross roads.
I was at the cardiologist at the time. Once I got to the truck, I tried to start it, which it did. However, my wife had already called AAA. so we let them take it to the Ford dealer.
The dealer checked it out today, and the verdict was a bad throttle body. Unfortunately, this is the second throttle body to fail on the truck. The other one failed at 36,+++ miles. This one failed at 70,800 miles. Fortunately, Ihave the ESP Ford extended warranty. It will cost me $100 to fix it.
Probably not even the throttle body. Have you done the fuse 27 relocation? It's a known issue, even ford has the repair documented.
No, haven't done a fuse 27 relocation. Just know what the dealer said to me yesterday. They are in the process of procuring a new throttle body, and will install it. They said if they could get it soon enough (diagnosed (?) problem fairly late yesterday(4/22/19)), it would be installed and back to me today (4/23/19).
When I go get the truck, I may mention something about the fuse 27 issue.
Atlee, Did u get the Truck back yet?
No matter what the problem turned out to be this time, do the Fuse relocation
Yes I did get it back. Drives fine now. However, it still seems to have a miss when idling at a stoplight. Once I get my last free oil change at my current dealership, I'm going to take it to the dealer where I recently (last 7 months) bought a new Fusion. The dealership where I bought the truck feels like it changed a lot over the years. Just don't feel comfortable with them.
We'll see.
As for the relocation of fuse #27, what needs to be done. Is there a you tube video showing the procedure. I'm not the most handy guy with a wrench.
