ISSUES!!!! Need help

Ok guys I have a 78 F-150 4x4 with a 351m and C6 auto. Driving home today I was running 60 no problems when she just fell on her face. Slowed down and shifted into 2nd and it picked up and went on. Got back up to speed and down she goes again and does before I could get it to the side of the rode. When it lost power I would press the gas and it would bog down like it was choking. I’m thinking something in the carb broke cause I tore it apart and it was nasty. Need some advice on how to proceed. Thanks in advance

Either the fuel system or jumped time. Could be dirt in the gas anywhere.

Did it start back up?

After the initial issue did it seem to run right after you got back up to speed? Or did it run bad again?

If the carb is nasty, do a rebuild and hope that fixes it.

No it didn’t start back up seemed like it was getting fuel but after the initial incident it ran fine until it did it again and died

Check your PCV valve to make sure it's not coming apart.

I had one in an '82 Mustang GT where the plastic body of the PCV degraded enough to let the inner valve piece drop down too far sometimes, creating a pretty bad intermittent vacuum leak, and hence causing an intermittent driveability and idle problem which it took me months to find...
