Recently I had my alternator changed as well as new battery terminals. I had found that a single wire with a ring connector located by the passenger side positive terminal that had not been reconnected. The mechanic denied that his team possibly could have overlooked this. I am wanting to know what the function of this wire before I reconnect it.One of the wires (brown wire) goes back to a solenoid on top of the motor The other two wires get lost in the wire loom and I have yet to track them down. The solenoid that the brown wire goes too is not the glow plug solenoid, but another solenoid mounted towards the front of the truck from the glow plug solenoid.
What solenoid is this and its function?
Thank you for your help and I hope I gave enough information
Im surprised with all these Superduty knuckle busters, that nobody had a response to my question. As I wait for some input, I have been trying to track down what this additional solenoid might be. One thing is clear is that I do not have a starter solenoid on my fender panel as I did in my 99' F250. Is it possible that this could be my starter solenoid next to the glow plug solenoid?
I appreciate any help that can be given and hopefully one day I can return the favor.
