2008 f250 5.4 swap to 6.0

I got a 2008 f250 super duty needing a new motor. I'm currently looking into a donor truck for a motor, but I'm curious if I find the same year of truck but diesel to swap it would there be any specific modifications I'd need to do if I had a donor truck with the motor, wiring, ecu and all? Or would it be just better just to find another 5.4 . Or a Cummins saw what would I need if I had a donor Dodge cummins Thank you

With a full donor truck it's a doable swap, you would be looking at 6.4 as there was no 6.0 trucks in 08. Most of us try to swap out the 6.4 for something better, I did a common rail Cummins swap in 2012 on my 2008 truck because the 6.4was such a pile.

You'd probably have it easier going to a V10 over a diesel. Avoid the 6.4 like the plague. Be ready to spend huge dollars either way. Especially if you're not doing much of the work yourself.

I can't imagine going from a 5.4 gas to a 6.0L diesel. Major mismatch. Better off trading the truck or changing the motor out with another 5.4.
