Sync3 with Sirius

I’m not the most electronic minded man. Pretty old school. So, why does my FM radio sound decent , like “stereo” sound coming out of FM, but when using Sirius, the speaker output sound is pretty crappy, like a “mono” vs stereo sound?

The Sirius receiver that ford used on the super duties is terrible - the signal is severely degraded in comparison to other brand vehicles and home or aftermarket receivers.

I was confused and disappointed by this too. Especially since I only listen to talk radio on Sirius. It sounds “tinny” to me.

SiriusXM compresses their audio signal, so when you get the signal, it sounds like a noticeably reduced dynamic range of the original recording or performance.

They are good for variety of material, but audiophiles cringe at the sound quality.

I‘m not sure if you’ve compared the two but Sirius sounds better while being streamed through a cell phone via USB.
