Thanks, I did notice a difference using FR3 oil additive, quieter and smoother. I haven't notice anything from cetane booster except a boost in throttle tip in aka PEPPIER.
Supposedly it helps with longevity of the EGR/DPF, assuming you have those still. The local diesel shop (which has a cult following here) says it's better than nothing in the long run. I figured I'd stick to the Motorcraft variety for now.
As a side note, I can buy the additive at a much lower price at the local dealership than on Amazon or elsewhere. You wouldn't think that'd be the case. Not sure if that's true everywhere though.

I still have them I am not a fan of the black smoke. Rolling coal is for kids. MY white boat would be covered with black all over it.
I use the Ford brand, and I do not notice a difference in driveabilty. But I will continue to use it because of the lubricant it adds that todays ULSD lacks..........keeps my Bosch fuel pump happy.
Use the ford stuff. I notice quicker regen and it’s much quicker to roar up and dig into the turbo. I use every other tank roughly. Doesn’t cost much, figure if it helps lube I’m down for it.
I believe there are only two reasons to use any diesel additive: for lubricity and for gelling. My brother's 2016 duramax experienced the dreaded CP4 fuel pump explosion. Worked out OK in the end, but it made me realize how sensitive these systems are to potentially crappy fuel. Gelling is usually handled locally with winter blends ... except for the coldest areas, most of us are protected from gelling just from the winter additive package the fuel providers add.
There may be some other benefits, like demulsifying, but lubricity and anti-gel properties are probably key. I'm not convinced that adding more cetane above the recommended value will provide any real benefit. Again, if you have crappy fuel that has low cetane, then the cetane boost will help restore the value back to the recommended value. But, if the fuel is already there ... the benefit of adding more is dubious.
Motorcraft PM-22a should be a nice direction to go to ensure proper levels of cetane and lubricity have been met, even if the quality of the diesel fuel varies. I wouldn't, however, expect it to have any MPG, power, or related benefits.

I don’t have a diesel truck, but my skidsteer, tractor, and zero turn are all diesels and I add the silver power serve to the diesel fuel for those.

You need to throw in there the benefits to the emissions system, specifically the DPF. Higher Cetane = a higher combustion temperature resulting in less soot making its way to the DPF. Definitely as others have mentioned - increasing the lubrication helping avoid the CP4 disaster. The way I look at it, if the manufacturer of the vehicle is selling a fuel additive that slightly increases Cetane and lubrication, probably a good idea to use it if you're in in for the long haul or you're just a caring person and want to help whoever buys your used truck.
I've used this on every tank in my '05 Dmax and now in my PSD. Clean injectors and perfect spray pattern on piston tops when Dmax apart for head gasket. Deleted Dmax never smokes when hammered with only 40HP Tow tune.
