Cap installed...auto start functionality is poor
Had an ARE cap put on with auto locks and a dome light. The tap in at the rear left tail light. Auto start distance was cut dramatically. Only works from about 30 feet. Before, you could start from inside a building or across a large parking lot.
Where is the antenna located? Is it possible it was damaged during install?

my ARE dealer will not install those kind of tops anymore that have the remote lock. he said the last one he did caused some kind of electrical problem that ford had to take care of. not exactly sure what the problem he ran into was but ARE sends instructions to each dealer on where to tap in and what not, but he said the new trucks wiring are so finicky when changing the loads.
