Ok everyone, I believe that i will be building a 73 2v clevo with a goal of reaching 400hp without breaking the bank. So far for internals i have decided on pistons that will give 10:1 compression, .030 overbore, new crank and valve train (suggestions onn what type i should go with here), i am thinking about putting on a 100 shot of nos so regaurdless of what i do i will go with forged pistons and an arp bottom end. The intake will be decided on what type of cam i get, it will get headers and a holley 750 double pumper (already have) carb. From here i am at a standstill.
My questions to you are, what cam specs should i be looking for? (I will play with the rear end gearing once the motor is done and running) The power band i am looking for is mid-low to high, oh and i would like one that gives a slightly rough idle (i love that sound). Also is there any head work i should perform like polishing/deburing/port the exhaust, and what about the igition? Lastly, what type of valve train should i invest in?
Now i have about $1200 i can spend (headers and intake and carb are already covered) and my dad will help with about 800-$1000. if you could estimate a price with the mods that would great.
