Just curious as to if anyone has ever played with a solid roller valve train and a 400? Reason being is that the valve train in my current motor isn't holding up very well, as i've had issues with bent pushrods what seems like every other race, and this most recent race i broke a rocker arm stud clean off like a bad zit, and the push rod on the same cyclinder on the other valve is bouncing around somewhere underneath the intake. I need something that is going to withstand the abuse of mud bogging a little better, and i am willing to spend the cash to do so (also is a good excuse to go bigger on the cam too )
Motor is a 400, balanced bottom end with zero deck flattop pistons 11:1CR, comp 275DEH cam, ported 4v quench heads (roller rockers, screw in studs, guide plates, etc), roush b351 intake with price motorsports spacers, and a demon 750 carb, with some custom made headers.
hmmm... get some yella terra strip rollers, they are expensive but will whitstand your application, are you sure you arent floating your valves too much?
I've been running a "Crane" (rest in piece) hyd roller to 5,600 with no problems and weaker springs (singles) than I should have. It's relatively mild.
