no, that sounds like it is fast shifting to third. should hold second until around 40.
when it shifts to 3 at low speed, does the engine struggle?

I don't notice any struggle when it does the shift.
It is almost seamless. I really had to pay attention to it.
Sometimes I hear a squeal like a belt when it's getting ready to shift but not always.
Usually after first start up so I think it really is a belt.

probably nothing wrong then. my diesel does the same thing, sometimes skips second if i go hard off the line then let up.
as long as the engine does not struggle, the trans will just upshift if it thinks no power is needed.

Ok just seems odd it would fast shift into 3rd before 30 mph. But I have no c6 experience.

Still seems odd that would be factory.
