On the FX4 trucks, how does the axle locker work? Can you use it in 2WD? Or does it force 4WD Low to be active before it'll let you use the locker?

 

If it’s like my F150 you can engage and disengage below 20 mph in 2wd or 4wd all you want. I utilize mine at one particular country intersection that is uphill and has tons of sand and gravel from winter. Just keeps the 1 wheel peel out of the equation and gets me across the intersection before someone comes over the hill and tags me. I have used in all the choices (2WD, 4WD high and low). Pretty confident the Ranger is the same setup but not 100% sure.

 

OK that's what I was hoping. It would be a very useful feature if it works that way. I'll file that away in the back of my mind. Thanks.
