How can a global company like Disney allow that on one of their stations? A powerhouse like Disney has it's own political agenda, and I don't think that it follows Rush's. BUT, Rush did a smart thing, look at what a lot of people are talking about, HIM. A pretty good stunt for such an ago-maniac.

i agree!! at school theres only a few black students but when they get in trouble and anytime a teacher tries to punish them, the same way they would a white student, the kids accuse the teacher of being racist. its BS, im tired of race being an excuse for everything too.
as for rush, all he did was state an opinion, everyone is entitled to have their own. i dont see why everyone has to take everything anyone says so seriously.

Rush is entitled to his opinion. When HIS opinion is contrary to a high percentage of the viewing audience of the station he works for, well, now he's a liability. He should have left the controversial comments for his radio show.
Anyone interested in debating the issue of whether Rush was right or not?
At first I had no opinion because I don't follow the Eagles. But after reading the slate.com article. http://www.slate.com/id/2089193/
I had to agree that he was right. (Of course I'm taking the word of sportswriter Allen Barra. I can only assume his stats are correct.)
Anyone have any more stats to compare McNabb to other QB's?
Have we now come to not be able to tell the truth because it might hurt someone's feelings. Rush also stated later that it was his opinion and anyone can disagree with him. The media lambasting had nothing to do with whether he was right or not. That is usually an indicator that the people doing the attacking don't want to address the actual issue brought to the table.
Regarding the comment about Brett Farve. He may not be as good as he used to be, but he was pretty impressive in his prime. His history deserves some respect. Jerry Rice is nothing special right now, but I doubt you would find too many people that would not agree that he is the best wide receiver in football history.
I am a-sportual, don't really follow it at all, when I heard weird old Rush was fired, I thought his alledged addiction to illegally aquired perscription pain killers had caught up with him.
I don't think it was McNabbs stats that Rush was referring to. He said he was over rated because the Philadelphia media wanted a black quarterback to be more than what he really is. I was sitiing here on the computer listening to him say what he did and I couldn't believe my ears. I was sittin here watching Tom Jackson and Micheal Irvin's uneasiness when responding to "his opinion". Danced right around it! He shows no sensitivity as to what minorities in general and blacks in particular have had to go through. Who cares about race in the competitive arena! Why the race card Rush?
Could it be that rush knew that it would create a media controversy? Could it be that all of this media attention and spike in ratings for his talk show were a part of his plan? Rush is not a stupid man, he knows he has many enemies that would jump all over him for such a comment. Rush is playing the media to get ratings. As for his Football comments, Judge a man on his stats not the color of his skin. The last couple of seasons have been really exciting for the Eagles. Alot of fun to watch, but this year The eagles have had a rough start. If I not mistaken there is more then one player on a football team. Granted Mcnabb has been awful lately, but he will come around. Rush's comment was just another example of kicking a man when he is down.
The only reason this is a story is because the person who made the comment is white, a conservative and a Republican. I don't believe Rush is a racist but others have gotten away with making racial remarks before. There is that baseball coach who said that blacks and latinos make great athletes because" they can take the heat". That was really a stupid thing to say. The guy did not resign and no one asked him to quit. Rush should have stood his ground and not resigned.
Okay , ESPN HIRED Rush for his CONTROVERSIAL VIEWPOINT! (Straight from an ESPN representitive). HE resigned, was not forced out, but was asked to. Fact of the matter is this, ESPN hired him to do a job, he did it well, and it scared them. The show he was on was a very opinionated, and THEY (the producers) WANTED HIS OPINION! When they got it they didn't like it. They should have already known that it wasn't going to agree with anyone else on the show or at the station.

Everyone knows why he was hired. Everyone knows why Dennis Miller was hired to do Monday Night Football. There's a difference between controversial in a good way, and controversial in a bad way. One way attracts fans and ratings, the other way attracts criticism and forces you to resign.
I think even an "idiot" as you describe can tell that difference. No television station wants to bring that kind of "heat" on themselves.
