i think it was his opinion and he shouldnt of quit espn...
now if an " african american" wouldve said the same thing about a white player it wouldnt of been a big deal.
everyone jumps on the side of the black guy just to ride the band wagon. i think its all crap. mcnabb is overrated and rush shouldnt be hung out to dry because of it. now youll see sharpton and jackson attack this thing and say espn is a racist company and rush is a klan member and we should all sew just to help mcnabb get 500 more million for throwing a football.... all band wagon crap....

I may not hear much, but I don't live under a rock. I'm well aware of the Rush fanatics out there. For you to deny that Rush Limbaugh symbolizes the far right would be pretty far fetched.
Rush gets burned, and his defense for it is that it must be true because he got burned? Whaaaa?
Makes no sense to me, and yet, the first two replies, both admitted Rush fans, saw nothing wrong and agreed with him ipso facto. The automatic response for Rush, it would seem, is to blame the rest of the world and "liberals" for being too sensitive, because clearly, he was only speaking "the truth".
It goes both ways, and I'm not saying Rush is the only talking head to play the same game.
Like I said, I don't know enough about Rush to form a real strong opinion, or for that matter, to really care what the guy says one way or another, but it seems pretty obvious that he has a cult following. A following that I don't want to be associated with either side of.
I never fail to find reasons why I only watch the actual sports games and sci-fi on TV. And rarely at that. Better things to do, like get greasy in the shop

Rush Limbaugh is probably the highest paid nationally syndicated radio host in the world. People who listen to his controversial radio show do it by choice. As a commentator for ESPN, there are different rules of etiquette. Rush should be smart enough to know if he uses ANY racial adjective in one of his descriptions he is going to offend someone. If he doesn't like the way McNabb is playing, just say he's a lousy quarterback. Leave the color issue out all together. I think sometimes "famous" people need to be reminded that they have to live by the same rules as anyone else.
Originally posted by Waxy Brett Favre's numbers have stunk the last couple years and he's still a media darling. Is it because he's white?
Yes...bretts numbers have sucked for a couple years. But theres more to a quarterback than his numbers. Brett still can pull of 4th quarter upsets like no one else....can motivate a team in half a second....and is still gutsy enough to block for a running back from time to time.
Waxy - There are many here that worship daily at the shrine of Saint Rush, whose brains are "on loan from God" (his words). While his ego would not fit on Mount Rushmore, I do admire his zeal for expressing his opinions and the fact that he makes no claim to objectivity. I believe that he has little faith in the mental capabilities of his audience because he often uses statements like, "let me tell you what this means", "let me interpret this for you", "what they are really saying is", ect. I listen to him if I'm going somewhere and actually agree with a portion of what he says, but he is often flat wrong. I'm amused when I hear him expound on some liberal plot and then see it appear on the forum. I wonder if Rush ever actually played football, I know he has never held elected office or served in the military.

I do think this has been blown out of proportion- Rush stated an opinion (one I don't agree with, but what else is new); I don't necessarily see it as out-out-out RACIST, but the media does. We've had a similar problem here in Rochester recently, but it was much more blatant, and certainly racist. A few weeks ago, an orangutan escaped from his cage at the local zoo. At the same time, our black mayor is running for county executive. This idiot talk-show host procedes to play sound effects of monkeys screeching, while he's talking about apes running loose at the zoo. THEN he says: "...and the monkey's running for County Executive!" (This is not the first time this jerk has pulled something like this.) After a week of outrage from ALL sides, the station finally announces that he's fired. Then the guy goes on TV and says he can't understand what all the fuss is about, that the comment was "totally unrehearsed and off-the-cuff." Hmmm. But he did have those SOUND EFFECTS ready........
this is just my opinion and all you ditto heads aren't going to like it, but Rush Limbo is nothing but a WindBag.....he is like a Tennessee Tody. All mouth and nobody......He has never sacrificed anything for this country. He is a pontificator on all things liberal as he puts them all into the same group. There are some very conserative Democrats that deserve better treatment than that. I am NOT a DEM and I am not a Clinton apologistist so don't try and put that label on me. Rush Limbo maybe a hero to some but he does nothing to bring the waring political factions together to work for the common good of our country. His liberal diatribe(s) serve only to polarize both the electorate and the ditto heads who kiss his fat glutemus bigamus everyday on Talk radio..... Rave on guys ....he's going to need an extra dose of Butt Kissing since he had to resign , poor baby.....s.kuteman
Look, Rush had no business saying what he did. Personally there is a lot that I agree with him about, but what he said was completely groundless. There are several black quarterbacks out there who have done well. Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Michael Vick (if he can stay healthy), Steve McNair, Kordell Stewart. Each one of these quarterbacks was great at one time or another or is on the verge of being great. Black has nothing to do with it. Rush's argument is unfounded and not reasonable. As far as racist, absolutely not. He was just trying to stir up some controversy. Doing what he does best. He tries to make people look at the other side of the coin, but unfortunately for him there was no coin to begin with. Now he is jobless.
I don't understand how someone is considered a racist when they identify and point out where a certain person is treated differently based on the color of their skin.
So if I identified and pointed out a where a person was treated unfairly because of their skin color, then I am just a good person correct? But on the other hand If I identified and pointed out where someone is being treated apparently better, given special care etc... because of their skin color, then I am now a racist correct? I just don't get it!
The term racist just cannot apply to the statement made by Rush the identifier. The people that should be under fire for the lack of action are not because we live in a racist paranoid world. Most people in the public's eye don't possess the nerve to play both sides of the issue. So they play it safe even in the presence of painfully obvious reverse racism. Extraordinarily good care, opportunities and patience are given to a particular group of people based on their skin color, unlike what the rest of the population receives. So, now that I identified this real problem just as Rush did, am I a racist?
How can a black person identify and point out where a white person gets special or just plain better treatment than blacks in the same situation without being called a racist? Apply this same situation to Rush and I think you will figure it out for yourself.
No Ryan, not really. read the full text of my statement. I fully admit that when it comes to Mr. Limbaugh That I don't care for him at all. If all his ditto head buds can defend him , well, then there is my side of the coin. Why can't adults have a discussion , even if alittle heated. That is what the Pig Pen is for is it not. We can roll around in the Philosophical MUD cause everybody gets alittle dirty in here. I won't post anymore responses about Mr. Limbaugh. Go ahead and delete it if that's your pleasure. Your the man with the decision making power and you must decide what will stay and\or go. And, after i went back and reread my statement....well I guess i have to agree. I should have just kept my fingers off the keyboard. I wasn't very nice to the King of the Ditto heads. I'll shutup , s.kuteman
