The wipers for my 1973 Ranchero will not go to park when turning off the wiper switch. I have checked out the wiring and /I do have 12 volts on the white wire going to the motor when the switch is off but I also have two separate plugs going to the wiper motor one with three wires going to the gear box and one with three wires going to the motor housing. I have included two pictures below of the motor and gear box but they do not look like to one that Mac's has that they say is for the 1973 Ranchero. Thye number on the back of the gear box is D20F-17504-BG or maybe BO. Can you advise about what could cause this or a means to get this unit rebuilt. Thanks for your help. Here is the back of the gear box with one connector Here is the base of the motor with one connector
1973 Torino/Ranchero: There are TWO different wiper motors. Within these two motors, there are TWO different park switches...that were also available by themselves.
When the wipers don't park correctly, it's the windshield wiper motorpark switch and plate assythat's defective. So you don't have to replace the entire motor.
Does your Ranchero have concealed wipers?
The D2OF-17504-BG wiper motor ID number is not listed in the parts catalog, all that's listed is D2OF-17504-AA & AB
Update on the problem. I took the plate off of the gear box and found corrosion on many of the connections. Some on the grounding circuit and some on the copper inside the gear box.Cleaned those off and got the connections to conduct a very low, less than one ohm, current resistance. I reassembled the unit and got the park to work but only during some of the wiping motion. I believe that there are still problems with the parking mechanism but I can use it for now and just play with the switch to get them to park. Number Dummy can you locate one of these motors within the system? If they are not available maybe there is someone with the knowledge and equipment to get it right? Thanks for the help leading me in the right direction.

Why buy a new motor when only the park switch is the problem?
