I have been interested in trying a front end swap on one of my Excursions for some time now. There are some good deals on 08-10 rollers in my area right now but all the threads I've found are 05-07 swaps. Is there some reason an 08-10 swap isn't possible or just more difficult?

Thanks all
call me mr.magic but I can get you info on how to get a 2017 front end clip with the necessary brackets. Just lmk what’s up?
Thanks but I am wondering specifically about the 08-10 swap. I know where to get a kit to make the panels work, it's the suspension components that I am curious about
I thought about doing the coil spring swap myself, but I found a company called Full Traction Suspension, which has a coil over shock suspension system for the front end that looks really good. It’s a pricey setup but I think FTS might be cheaper than doing the 05 and newer coil setup. The other thing is, the minimum lift is 4.5 inches for the FTS, so that might not be what you want.
At least the front, in the rear I am not sure but I don’t think they changed the spring length until 2011
Thanks. That's exactly what I was trying to find out. All of the 05+ suspension swaps I found used 05-07 parts. I like the 08-10 look and already have some of the parts which combined with how many rollers I've found local in those years makes it an attractive choice
Look at this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...thread-21.html It will tell you most everything you need to do the suspension swap. Although the title is '07, around post #418 we talk about the differences between the '07 and '08, which are very minor, at least from the suspension brackets, and axles.

it's almost the same...but just enough that you cannot simply bolt it up. That's why the 08+ body panels and bumper require some decent cutting to make fit.
honestly I'd do a front frame section replacement if swapping 05-7 or 08+ suspension onto an Excursion. Then it's just a matter of adapting hoses/brake lines from 00-05 to 08+ connections. especially if you have a complete roller. I personally am not a good enough welder to trust myself, but I would tack it into place and take to a weld shop to fully burn in.
for the rear, I've driven many of the "new" longer leaf trucks. not a fan. they ride like a Chevy and squat badly IMO under a load. Swapping from your current setup to a '11 and newer setup is as easy as drilling 6 holes. you don't need any new hardware beside grade 8 bolts. plenty of Superduty guys have done it. There is a DIY in the F-250 forum for it. Just need to source the proper length leaf springs. again, that's a personal preference.
this can be a very worthwhile upgrade. My 2006 F-250 could turn circles around my Excursions. the turning radius alone almost makes the headache
