Not enough information is given for a helpful reply. What are you sending? Fuel level, oil pressure, engine temperature, voltage, amps, ?? Also include engine size.

sending unit for my fuel. The gauge was working now it doesn't read anything at all. I've checked all the wires and the gauge itself and everything has power just not reading the amount of fuel in the tank. And I have a 351w

There is a fuel sending unit available for an 83 Ranger made by AutoMeter. Strangely it is sold by J C Whitney, but may be offered by other vendors. LMC has lots of other senders, but none for an 83. The AutoMeter sender says it is a universal fit and can be adjusted for tank depth. Good luck.
