So the fuel gauge in my truck goes through its full sweep in the first 1/3 to 1/2 a tank then reads empty for the rest of the tank. The rest of the gauges work fine and the sending unit is only 3 years old.
I don't have factory gas tank and I have an underbed fuel cell that has a sending unit that looks like a long canister. I can get a new sending unit but I don't want to replace it if I don't have to. I'm assuming I could use an ohm meter and see if the sending unit is reading right. What ohm readings should I look for?
When it was first installed the sending unit would read right but at 1/4 it would really have 1/2 a tank left. But at E it was really empty. And over time it has progressed to where it is now.
