Does anyone know if you can convert a divoreced Np435/np205 tranny and tcase to a married set, other than buying ones that are already together. I am on a budget and was planning on just using the dvorced set that I have with a shortened dogbone, but I will still be cutting it close as far as rear pinion angles. I am on a limited budget so I'm trying to use what I have, rather than get new equipment.
keeping it divorced would alow for better angles on the driveline because you can mount the Tcase has high or low as you want. The old High boys were setup this way and could be lifted to the moon before any serious driveline angles came into play. but if you really want the married life your probably gonna need to trade someone or buy them and sell what you got.
Thats what I figured, I'm stuck here in Korea for another 3 months or so and don't have the tranny and tcase in front of me to see ifthe yoke on the tcase can be removed and replaced with a intermediate shaft and replacement tail for the tranny. I would rather leave it divorced for the same reasons that you said, (drive line angles) but it makes for a very short rear drive shaft. I've got to have room for the 37" tires I have as well so maybe a 6" lift will give me the length i need/want for the rear DS. Oh well, I sure wish the truck was outside and not 8,000 miles away, it sure would make things easier.
BTW I removed the running gear from a 77 Hiboy that I couldnt get titled, In hind site, i should have kept and shortened the frame for the Bronco body. Oh well.
yea you should have, cause you could have droped a 390 in that thing oh my that would have been a wheeling mother. so you stationed in Korea huh. that sucks . you beating up any N K. hehe
I think they have heard of us Red Barons cuz they've been stayin up north where they belong. I want to drop a 460 in it but I am still kinda partial to the 351M with a fresh rebuild from the hiboy waitin to go in the ol' Bronc when I get home. Guess I'm still a little too young, I'm not too familiar with the old FE blocks.
True, there is no rep. for disp. but when I do go to a 460, I want an efi setup. I don't have the funds, even if I sell the 351M right now to get an EFI460, and build it like I want it. So the 351M will have to do for now.
