1991 Ford F150 stalls intermittently

Help Help Help Help,

I have a 1991 Ford F150 2 door pickup truck, 4.9L with Over Drive. Over the last two weeks, the engine would stall intermittently when I hit the gas peddle after stopping (i.e. at a red light). The check engine light flickers but would go away immediately. It restarts and then runs fine. The idle is smoothe and I feel no loss of power.

I took it to a near by service station. They ran a computer check for codes:

Several codes showed up:

172 - EGO not switching, lean EXH-Bank 1
181 - Cruise rich limit, Bank 1 still open
327 - EGR (EVP/PFE/DPFE) signal too low
328 - EGR (EVP) voltage below closed limit
332 - EGR valve not opening (EVP/PFE/DPFE)
556 - Fuel Pump relay primary CKT
634 - Manul Lever position out of range
626 - Coast clutch selonoid ?
KOER
213 Sout cKT open

What does all this mean? Where should I start given the symtoms I've stated above? The technician was clueless and I do not want to play the quessing game of change this, change that until something works.

Please, some one help me.

P.S. I've just recently changed the plugs, wires and air filter and had an oil change.

I am not a wizard on this but look at your fuse box and see if you have a circuit with EGR stuff on it. Maybe you'll get lucky if it's only a blown fuse. Randy

Bummer. I still suspect an electrical problem with the signal alarms and low voltage alarms. Possibly a loose connection or broken wire under the hood. Maybe some of the gurus over in the pre '97 forum could help you out better. Randy
