I get it, and yes it was a real question. Otherwise I wouldn’t have asked. And there are many body parts that carry through several generations of f150s and f250s. That is why I asked. I’m not asking if it’s the same, I’m asking if it can be done and if the body lines match. Thanks for your input,
Which body parts are you referring to that carried over? The last parts to swap between the F150 and Superduty trucks were the tailgates and brake lights from 97-04 (heritage).
That’s one of the things I’m referring to. Before 08, parts swapped between a couple generations all the way back to the 60s(atleast). I’ve never owned any truck this new, which is why I’m asking if any one has done it. Not looking for arguments or debates, just a yes or no.
Which model year tailgates could I put on 2014 f150 xlt 4×4, could you be specific please? Im just trying to save as much as possible and I am starting to get really frustrated with this crap
An 04-08 tailgate will also work. If believe the rail cover is different, but it would work in a pinch.
Not worried about the flare at the top, i know you can buy fiberglass one to put on older tailgates to make them look newer, i was just thinking about welding one on an 04-08 tailgate and then wrapping it. My only question is would i have to move anything around on my 14 to make the 04-08 tailgate fit?
I’m almost sure the hinges on the body are
different. I think if I change the hinges where the gate slides in, it might need a little adjustment. Thanks for the advice.
