Tailgate interchange
Hi! I have a 2010 f150 xlt. I’m just curious if anyone has tried putting the 15-19 tailgate on? Just curious if it looks good. Or fits.
if anyone’s done it, pictures would be nice.

I get it, and yes it was a real question. Otherwise I wouldn’t have asked. And there are many body parts that carry through several generations of f150s and f250s. That is why I asked. I’m not asking if it’s the same, I’m asking if it can be done and if the body lines match. Thanks for your input,

That’s one of the things I’m referring to. Before 08, parts swapped between a couple generations all the way back to the 60s(atleast). I’ve never owned any truck this new, which is why I’m asking if any one has done it. Not looking for arguments or debates, just a yes or no.

Tailgates on all Styleside trucks would fit/swap ‘65–‘96. Then 1997-2003 F150 and 1999-2106 Super Duty tailgates would fit/swap.
The late model 2015+ F150 tailgate doesn’t fit any other trucks.

Many people aren't aware that Ford married the dimensions of the F-150 and SD trucks thus making the F-150 slightly wider with a shallower bed.

Not worried about the flare at the top, i know you can buy fiberglass one to put on older tailgates to make them look newer, i was just thinking about welding one on an 04-08 tailgate and then wrapping it. My only question is would i have to move anything around on my 14 to make the 04-08 tailgate fit?
