tranny dipstick 89 e150

89 e150 4.9 i6 with a/c. For the life of me I can't find the c4 tranny dipstick. I search of the forum says left hand side, but I see nothing.

Forums say its somewhere around here, but I can't see it. Any ideas, i don't mind crawling underneath if I need to. Previous owner had a bottle of AT fluid laying around, I imagine it wasn't because he liked the color of the bottle

You aren't going to find one, because it's not a C4!
1989 E150 4.9L (300 I-6) could have a C6 or AOD // No C4's after 1981.

AOD (Automatic Overdrive) will have an O in the shift quadrant.

Look on the Certification Label for the TRANS code, post what it is.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any, none on ebay.

Sorry, not sure if I need one, I mean I don't see it when I open the hood, do I have to go underneath?

Of course you need a dipstick. How can you check the fluid level without one? Plus, the trans is filled thru the dipstick tube.

Dipstick and tube located on the right (passenger side) rear of the engine compartment, just in front of the firewall.

See 7A020 (dipstick) & 7A228 (tube) in parts catalog pic:
