Ok heres the deal. i own a 97 EB with four corner lls. i want to know how to convert it to only haveing the rear lls.. if any one can help me with this it would be great.. thanx in advance..
I'm not an electrician or a mechanic (with that said), I would disconnect the front and wire some kind of widget doohickey that takes the load when the signal is sent to it. This way the computer still thinks its sending and recieving properly. Maybe someone with actual knowledge can take this and make it work.
i am trying to put a lift on it but no one and i mean no one makes a lift for the four corner lls, so i want to lose the front.. besides i tow trailers often so i refuse to loose the rear..
I don't have LLS, but from looking at the schematics, there isn't much difference between the rear LLS and 4-corner LLS. Basically, from what I can determine, disconnect the front fill/gate solenoids, front sensor, and the pneumatics for the front shocks. Block off the pneumatic lines for the front. That should convert it to the rear LLS system. You may have to reset the computer when you are done. According to the Ford manuals, both the rear LLS and 4-corner LLS share the same electronics.

is there any way i can get a copy of the shcematics your looking at? by disconecting the front sensor from the computer will it automaticaly revert to a rear only system or is the air light going to come on in the dash?
Theoretically you could replace the front airshocks with regular shock absorbers, block the air lines, and remove the front height sensor (located in driver side front wheelwell - tucked away next to engine).
Or you may royally hose everything up - the ride height measurements are hardwired into the computer.

I purchased the electrical schematics manual from Helms for my '00 Exped - great manual, and an absolute necessity for anyone who wants to try and fix an electrical problem. Also, does everyone know that they can 'rent' the (3) main service manuals for any Ford vehicle on the Motorcraft web site?? For example, for my Ranger, it cost $9.95 for 3 days access. You can find what you need and then print it for reference. It beats buying all the manuals if you don't need them often.
