I have a 2005 Ford Ranger 2 wheel Drive That I want to install some tires that I Got for free in Great shape. But my concern is the size i am using now is 215 75R15 and the size I am thinking about installing on rear is 235 75R15. By doing this would it mess up my anti lock braking system? I know the different size will throw off my speedometer. I would keep the 215 75 R 15's on the front and the 235 75R15's on the rear, Just would like to have some input if this is a good idea or not Thank you!
So long as the outside diameter of the tires is the same, there will be no ABS problem. To correctly answer the question RE outside diameters, you need to visit the specific tire manufactures websites and look up the size information and then decide. Anything short of this would be a guess with the result being.....unknown and unproven until you "go for it".
I already have newer tires on the truck, and the 2 tires i wanna install are Studded more traction on ice with those
Just a reminder, there are legal limitations to running studded tires, so make sure of the laws regarding them in your state. In South Dakota, studded tires are permitted only from October 1 to April 30. Studded tires are permitted May 1 to September 30 if retracted. School buses and municipal fire vehicles permitted to use studs anytime.
Your speedometer will be slightly off (you will be going slightly faster than indicated) but only by 1-2 mph at most. It won't affect your antilock braking.
