Well this is a easy one. Call BDS and ask them it is their product, or Call Ready Lift and ask them. I use the BDS product which is what my installers prefers to use. There is most likely a reason for this---not on this truck but on a previous one (2500 Ram) had the bolts loosed a bit and it creaked/groaned. 26k on the 18 F250 and no issues so far it is still tight.
You are smart to question this and want to understand the rationale behind the install specifications involved.
Well I contacted both companies.ready lift said after extensive testing that 250 was plenty with there bracke,but if it made me feel better I could go to 405.bds kept referring me to my closest dealer,which said “we go to 405 cause that’s what the factory is”.so there you go,looks like you should just use your better judgement
That’s what I was worried about on my bds bracket, my installer brought out a 5 foot torque wrench and went to 405 and I could just hear those ears breaking,but they didn’t.
