The las two regens my 2018 F350 with 10k miles had were extremely fast. I mean it drops from 99% to 0 within five minutes and no drop in MPG. Regens are occuring about every 300 miles, which is normal for me so I'm confused on what is really going on. I'm not sure if something is up with the Forscan activated DPF screen or if I'm getting false readings one way or the other. Is there a monitor in Forscan lite I can use to look at the flow rates on each side of the filter? Has anyone else experienced this?
As it’s gotten warmer here, I’ve noticed the same. I can actually leave work see it start a Regen, hit the interstate for two mile at 80 mph and exit of the house on the back end and get a Regen done. Works out well, I noticed the same right after enabling the dpf screen.
With my 2017 regens we’re very noticeable. There was significant MPG reduction. While traveling at 65 mph MPG would drop from 21 MPG down to 10-12 MPG during a regen. You could also feel reduction in throttle response and smell it.
With my 2019 it’s hard to tell it’s in a regen mode. In almost 4000 miles so far only twice did I slightly smell the regen and didn’t notice any other indication.
I did enable the DPF screen in forscan with my 2019. The filter seems to get from 0%-100% very 350-500 miles. Yesterday shortly after starting a 120 mile Hwy trip I looked at filter % and was surprised it was at 0% which indicated a recent Regen. I had no idea it had occurred.
I wonder if if there’s a difference in regen programming in the recent 6.7s?

When my 2017 does a regen, I don't think I've ever seen 0% on the screen. Usually down to 15-20% if I'm still driving. The other day, truck went into a regen on my way home from work so I drove around to complete the cycle. When it got to 10%, it seemed the regen stopped so I headed home, a couple miles. Next time I started the truck, it was at 5%. Anyone else experience this???
I must not pay enough attention to the gauges because I've never seen it say anything about regen. However, I looked at my DEF gauge twice now and it dropped a little off full around 500 miles and little more Saturday running to Denver when I hit the 1,000 mile mark.
I always have mine set on the Trip 1 reading. Should I have it on another one to see it go in to regen?

The DPF continues to cook after the truck is off. The DPF is very hot and doesn’t cool off quick enough to stop cleaning immediately. Very common to see it drop from % seen before shutdown to % at restart later.

You can have the dealer activate the DPF screen under the Engine Information screen in your dash. My regens were every 500 miles and lasted for about 20 miles at 80mph to get to zero. If you have the DPF gauge enabled, you can watch the regen through the meter.

Do you think the motor in the 19 is louder than the 17? Maybe like more injection noise?
