Tools come and go from the cab of my truck as I need them at home and at work.

The things that do NOT leave my truck are 2 blankets, and one rain suit. I have a load lock from a semi-trailer cut down to fit in my box, and a couple racheting tie downs. Work gloves, rope, washer fluid, oil and brake fluid are in a bag behind my seat.

My list keeps getting longer & longer... most of the stuff is in a rubbermaid container in the bed, some in the glove box, some in the center console, some in the cargo-net style organizer in the back seat of the CrewCab, and I just bought an organizer that hangs behind the driver's seat. Organization is critical when you carry this much gear...

Tools:
Wrenches, ratchet set
Tool belt with most common hand tools (pipe wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, knife, etc)
Dewalt & all accessories (drill bits, driver bits, EVERYTHING)
Multi-tool
Hydraulic bottle jack

Rope/Straps:
Nylon/poly ropes of different weight ratings
2 heavy duty ratcheting straps
1 emergency tow rope, 15,000lb rating
2-3 dozen bunjees, various sizes
Mason's line

Safety:
Bright orange safety vest
Flares
Big 4-D Mag Light & "miner style" head-strapped flashlight
Fully equipped first aid kit, and a smaller glove box kit
Fire extinguishers
Halloween-style snap & shake chemical lights

Vehicle Repair:
Extra fluids (oil, antifreeze, etc)
Tire Patch Kit
X shaped tire iron with 4 different ends (for different size lug nuts)
Cordless compressor

Comfort/Convenience:
Pillows & blanked I "accidentially" kept from my last airline flight
More blankets/picnic style lay-downs
AXE body deoderant spray
Change of clothes, tootbrush, tootpaste
Skin Moisturiser
Off bug spray
Pocket/hand warmers
Lever Hand/face cleaning wipes
Heavy-duty hand wipes

Miscellaneous:
Machete
3' section of EMT & hose-style conduit (wouldn't want someone to hit me with either one of these...)
Large Tarp
Duct Tape
Latex gloves
IronClad work gloves
Lighter & matches
Extra bits of lumber
Axe
Rags, paper towels, etc.
Various size garbage bags
Cardboard (something to lay on & throw out, if needed)
Simple Green Spray bottle

If anyone can top this list, then give me your # so I have someone I can call if I'm in a jam. There's more, but I'm forgetting... believe it or not, everything is stashed away very tidy. Large items in the rubbermaid (tends to get heavy -- thinking of changing to several smaller ones rather than one big one) & milk crates in the bed, smaller ones inside the cab. Here's a pic of my modular bed setup... again, this will probably changes soon. More pics in my gallery!

Dang thats a long list!! I bet you guys could overtake Litchenstein with that much equipment!!

As for me, I always carry my cell phone, GPS, radar dector, trailer lighting adaptors, Swiss Army knife, thick leather gloves, two shackles, 30' ****** strap, 20' tow strap, 4 D-Cell Maglight, 1 million candle power spot light, folding "army" shovel, 5 shop rags, 60" Hi-Lift, my 200+ rock CD collection, and most importantly, Deep Woods Off!

Dang it Gary, after reading your list I rememberd at least 20 items I keep that I didn't include... there's just too much "stuff" in there. And it keeps growing & growing... every time I have to improvise with a tool I'm carrying rather than the ideal tool I'd like, once I get to the house that tool goes into the hopper, too! Kife sharpener, electrical multi-meters, various screws & fasteners, etc.

Can't tell you how many times I've had to fix something at a friend's house very impromptu... they're always surprised when I start grabbing gear and have everything I need for most common tasks. One of my buddies once said that if he's ever stranded in the middle of nowhere, he hopes it's with me. With all the stuff I carry, I could build us a small house in no time...

And before anyone starts to think I'm a nut for carrying this much, I have a good reason/excuse. I manage properties for investors, and have a weekend place I go to once in a while. I used to hate goint to the vaca house or stopping at one of the rentals, finding something needs to be done, but not being able to do it since I needed tools. Now, 99% of the common tasks I do can be accomplished without coming back later. Just hit a hardware store for materials, grab the tools from my truck, and get it done.

P.S. -- I'm thinking of keeping the plumbing torch & MAP gas with me now... best way of starting a bonfire/BBQ I've seen yet. No fluid required, even burns wet wood!
