Alexa Smartlink Skill?
I have a 2018 F250 with a Smartlink plugged into it, that is accessed through the FordPass app. It works great, but I'd like to be able to use Alexa to start the truck and schedule it to automatically lock itself at a certain time each evening in case it gets forgotten. I tried the Fordpass skill, but it doesn't think there is any functionality available in it, because my VIN does not register that it has Fordpass. Any way to get to this with Alexa?

Any idea why your VIN# does not register with FordPass?
This doesn’t apply to you because you’re a current SmartLink owner but as of 3/14/2019, SmartLink has been discontinued and a replacement product is in the works and it might be out later this year.
Again, this info does not affect current owners who purchased SmartLink before this announcement.

I have NO idea. I called Ford, and they were obviously working from a checklist, insisting that my Truck (based on it's VIN) did not have this capability. It took me sending them a screen shot of the app to convince them that it did. Their reply was "...Oh, this is through Smartlink - you'll have to contact them..." Really helpful - NOT!

The dealer who installed and programmed it should have taken care of this.

Well, long story short, I did a few days ago. After several days of trying to look into it for me, they came up empty as well. No idea where I go from here with this. With an advertised over 50,000 skills for Alexa, one would think there would be one for Fords Smartlink, but if there is, I can't find it, and now that you say it's been discontinued, I doubt there ever will be.
