My Sanborn SLA4708065 Hi-Flo compressor has gone faulty, it won’t reach full pressure. It also has a squeaking noise? It seems like the central cylinder is actually pushing air out of the air filter intake not pulling air in as the other two cylinders do. Any ideas?
I'm no compressor expert. I have a Harbor Freight 60 gallon single stage compressor. Awhile back it quit making air. I did some digging around and the actual compressor is a fairly common unit used by most of the brands of compressor's sold everywhere; Lowe's, Home Depot, Northern Tools, etc. I ordered a new valve set and head gasket. I wish I would have pulled it apart first as there was nothing wrong with my valves. It turned out I had a blown head gasket. The gasket was just a plain, thin paper gasket. Heck I probably could have fabbed it myself.
I guess the main take-away is that parts for the compressor are available, but you can't always find the parts by searching by the brand of the complete compressor. Look on the actual compressor unit and try and find a model # etc. and go from there.
These compressors use a reed style valve that is only held by a screw that backs off . Pull the head ans see if they have backed off . I have had this happen on more than one l
