Cold heater when idling
Hey guys..heater blows hot when running down the highway but when at idle it turns cold..any ideas?

Water pump going south
Low on coolant
Thermostat needing replaced

My 6.0 did the same thing when the headgaskets went south.are you getting any puking from the degas tank?

So did mine, that's an early sign of head gasket failure. I did all of the above and got my answer when I pulled my heads.

Perhaps you could do a coolant pressure test as well. There is plenty of info on this on the forums.

I think the least amount work step would be just to check the coolant level and coolant temp.
