1952 F-1 Dash *****:

I have new choke and throttle ***** and they are threaded.Does anyone know how the original ***** are mounted.I don't want to do something here that I wished just left alone?I just wanted to change because letters look nice.Maybe be easier to just try and repaint the letters on my original *****?

yes, the originals are molded on the shaft. You can cut it slightly with a dremel and it should just break in half.

On both my 54 and my 55 I removed the ones I could and papered and taped around the others and painted them gloss black. I wanted to keep as much original to the 54 truck as I could since it belonged to my grandpa. And I'm thrifty. Some say cheap!

I know yours are different but you could paint and then paint the letter.

Thanks Abe,my throttle **** is original and in good shape just the letter is missing paint, but I think my choke cable has been changed to a universal some time in the past?
