Huh, all of our keyless entry cars have a key spot too - both our Expedition and the F350 have keypads and key holes... But I take it yours does not...
Oops hit submit too quick: how about going in the fenderwell on the passenger side? If you can just get something on the batt positive, you could hook up a charger to see if you could get enough juice in there so the keypad or fob would work...
Maybe make use of the positive cable going to the starter under the truck.

No, that's a good way to handle it. To get the door open you can use a small battery, like for a garden tractor, motorcycle, home alarm, business exit sign, lots. Can get them from Home Depot for a few dollars, or upgrade to Walmart for trailer/motorcycle. And a small clip would get to the terminal, you are only opening the door.
Our Lincoln LS with the battery in the truck has a positive jump terminal behind the pass wheelwell.
