So I finally got my f-250 lariat ultimate. .. so what happens if the battery goes dead? It looks like I only have keyless entry and the push button on the door. How do I open the door in order to pop the hood to get to the batteries? It hasn't happened yet but I would like to know before that day comes. ..
youll need that key for the spare tire lock. Just looked at mine, there is a keyhole in the door handle in plain sight, not hidden like on the wifes fusion.
As far as I know just opens the door, one you can open the hood you can jump the batteries and the push button will work. And If you have a Diesel you have 2 batteries anyways.
If the batteries are to dead to talk with the FOB. They are not going to crank the starter or heat up the glowplugs. You've got much bigger problems than where to put the key in order to start.
Is there a way to start the truck with the hidden key? Or is it just for tbe door?
There is a "secret" compartment in the center console to place your fob in case the FOB battery dies. If placed there the truck will function as if the fob has working batteries.
That is a good question......I would suggest looking in the bottom seat cushion console part and seeing if anything pulls up to review a key fob shape. I doubt Ford would drastically change where that spot is just because of the bench seat.
